Approval of the type of standard samples or measuring tools (MT) – is the adoption of a decision about whether the type of a standard sample or a measuring tool meets metrological and technical requirements on the basis of the results of tests carried out.

The decision about the approval of the type of standard samples or measuring tools is made on the basis of the positive results of the tests conducted for that purpose. When approving the type, its accuracy indices, verification interval and verification method are defined. The type of standard samples or measuring tools is approved by the certificate issued.

The standard samples and measuring tools of which their type has been approved are registered by the state. Registration of the State Registry is be determined in accordance with the legislation.

The certificate is valid for 5 years.
                                     

State Registry of standard samples or measuring tools – is intended for registration of standard samples or measuring tools that are produced in the country and of which the type is approved after passing through the state admission test, and that are imported from abroad in batches or individually and allowed to be used in the territory of the Country after exposure to metrological examination for the purpose of determining their compliance with the approved type. Information about the standard samples or measuring tools of which the type is approved is placed in a centralized database, and also published on the official website of the Azerbaijani Institute of Metrology public legal entity. Physical and legal entities shall submit an application to the Azerbaijan Institute of Metrology for the purpose of approving the type of standard samples or measuring tools. The application should indicate the name, mark and main metrological characteristics of the standard sample or measuring tool, and the following documents should be attached to the application:

The list of documents required to conduct tests with the purpose of approving the type of standard samples or measuring tools that are produced in the country or that are imported from abroad in batches (or individually) for the legal and physical entities:

1. Samples (Sample) of measuring tools;
2. The technical specification for the production of the standard sample or measuring tool;
3. Passport, maintenance documents, manufacturer's documentation set, a standard sample or measuring tool;
4. Description of the type of a standard sample or a measuring tool;
5. Verification method of a standard sample and a measuring tool;

Note: Documents should be submitted as translated if they are not in Azerbaijani language.

The list of documents required to recognize the approval of the type of standard samples or measuring tools by a government agency or manufacturer of a foreign country:

1. Copy of Certificate on the approval of the type of a standard sample or a measuring tool, issued by the government agency of the producing country or other foreign countries;
2. Description of the type;
3. Operation instruction;
4. Passport;
5. Verification method ;
6. Copy of Act on the results of tests conducted;
7. Copy of the accreditation certificate of the testing laboratory;
